Winter 2011 Poster: Designed by Jessica Tan

For the Winter poster I wanted to work with imagery that expressed motion. For a poster, what happens funnily enough is that that movement has to stop. What I found to be the most exciting visual forms of captured motion (especially in high contrast black and white) were patterns made by iron fillings and rippling liquid. With consistent typography, although quite formally different, the two images work together nicely as a poster duo.

Jessica Tan is a fourth year in the Design Media Arts department. She is currently an assistant to Willem Henri Lucas, designer and chair of the Design Media Arts department. Her work focuses on print and book design.
