[I am Jonathan Gacnik, a second-year Design Media Arts student. I work as assistant to Willem Henri Lucas, the UCLA Design Meda Arts department chair. I work primarily with web and print media.
I recognized on listen-through that most of the selected compositions emit chaotic sophistication while retaining delicate simplicity. I approached this poster with both characteristics in mind. The black and white palette with classic typeface were products of that simplicity. The combination of consistent vertical bars with random angled bars was the attempted visualization of structural chaos. Together, the resulting poster strongly communicates the music of Contempo Flux.]
